Theophilus London was recently in Vancouver for the 10,000lb Hamburger Tour with A-Trak and we were on hand to watch his performance as well as interview him. After his show I had the chance to sit down with the Brooklyn based artist to discuss a handful of various topics. We talked about what he thinks of Vancouver, the passing of music icon Michael Jackson, what his role in the new generation of hip-hop is, why his music is “for the world”, who he’s working with right now & whats in store for him in the near future and much more.

Last night I hit up the K-OS show for free, it was part of his “Yes! Karma Tour” which meant everyone could enter for free and then make a donation after the show. K-OS is great live, his vocals are the same as if it was recorded which you don’t see much these days (ie T-Pain etc). He played classics like Heaven Only Knows, Emcee Murdah and new tracks like I Wish I Knew Natalie Portlan and 4 3 2 1. After he finished Natalie Portman he told the crowd “Youtube that right away and help a brother out” ha. For some fun at the end after introducing his bad to the crowd he said “And as you all know, I’m Will.i.am…nah just kidding but I had too”. Great show, great cause as well and they gave out a copy of the Yes! Remixes album to everyone who donated.
Here’s the trailer for Eminem’s new music video for his single 3 A.m. The significance here is that the video will premiere for the first time in move theaters. This is a big change from MTV, BET etc and will help build lots of hype for album release on May 19.
Cinemax exclusively debuts the latest, never before seen, uncensored music video from rap star Eminem, on Saturday, May 2 at 10pm ET/PT in theatres. The music video for 3 a.m., the third track to be released from Eminems forthcoming album, Relapse, was directed by Syndrome.
Aristotle’s Lycuem is a local hip-hop group out of Vancouver, Canada. They’ve been hard at work on this mixtape for some time now and I was fortunate enough to hear a few tracks before it released today. I created all the artwork for the mixtape, including the front/back of the CD tray, the insert and the groups logo. I’ll post the full artwork another time.
