Torch relay came threw today as it made its way to downtown Vancouver. Work sent me out to film as the Torch was lit and sent off. Pretty cool to see so many people in the rain cheering them on.

A long process from start to finish for various reseasons but I finally completed the redesign of the city website for Port Coquitlam, BC in late September. Designed for their CMS “ActiveCM” in CSS/HTML. Focus for the homepage design was information and consistent updates so that citizens can easily find “whats new”.

“Having already logged almost one million page views this year, the website is playing an everincreasing role in the City’s efforts to engage the community. The goal of the update was to make www.portcoquitlam.ca more dynamic, easier-to-use and appealing than most government websites, in order to reach even more people.”

Long time no post. Going to have a bunch of new stuff going up soon though. For now here’s my most recent billboard for the City of Port Coquitlam. Focus on this billboard was to encourage citizens to conserve their water usage, especially during the summer. Really tried to convey that with the big loonie (to help catch peoples eye as they drive by) and the pile of money underneath the sprinkler.
Theme this year was “Volunteers – Amazing in 2009″. This is some of the other print work I did with the 2009 Volunteer logo I designed. You can check out a bigger version of the work on my Deviant Art page.
Print work included:
Posters (11″x17″ & 8.5″x11″)
Thank You Card (3″x3.75″)
1″ Silver Pin Design
180′x36′ Banner
3 Panel Brochure/Nomination form
Don’t have it all above but I will post the pin when its been manufactured.

This is the latest billboard I did for the City of Port Coquitlam. This billboard was meant to promote the cities new “Active Resource” centre and the theme for it was “Get Active- Stay Healthy”. I wasn’t too happy with this when it went to print. It just didn’t seem right on my screen but the final output looked great, especially from a distance when you don’t see the cut lines.
Slideshow above includes a few photos of the finished product. This project took about three and half months from start to finish. We had 19,000 copies printed. Size of the calendars was 12″x18″ full bleed and saddle stitched & folded. Also inside there is a 4 page insert that is 12″x21″. Printed on 25% PCW 55% Recycled Content – FSC Certified Paper. You can check out pictures in a bigger version of the slide show or on my deviantArt.

Logo design for City of Port Coquitlam’s annual Volunteer Awards. Theme for this years awards was “Volunteers – Amazing in 2009″. Got to do a lot of print collateral for this include a 1″ silver pin, posters and brochure so I will post those later on.

This logo was designed for the Cities annual “I Love My City” essay contest. Had a few restrictions for this one as it needed to be a circular design to fit well on a button and a 3 color design. Also here’s a picture of the final button…. Conintue Reading…
